Howdy Folks,
Craig Dorseys Vintage Vacations Spring Rally is back on for this coming May and it promises to be a great turn out.

A lot has happened in the past year and there are many big changes in the planning stages for the future of my work and family which is taking up most of my spare time and leaving little time to plan and prepare for the rally.
In the past, I have always posted the rally info in November but was unable to find the time to do all that I needed to get done this year and am just able to get to it. Better late than never!

This year, Michael and Sherry Morris have graciously offer to be my co-hosts for the event which will make everything go a lot smoother for me. The Morris's have attended many of the past Vintage Vacations rallies as well as others and are the perfect folks to have as your host! Thanks guys.

Once again we are returning to the Wonderful Newport Dunes Waterfront RV Resort in the scenic Backbay of Newport Harbor in Newport Beach Ca.

If you are a returning trailerite to the rally, you know how wonderful the resort is! If you will be joining us for the first time, you are in for a wonderful treat! Here is just a sample of what they have to offer.

382 full hookup RV Sites of which we have 120 sites booked for the event.
Lush Grounds and Immaculate Facilities.
Secluded Beach with Waveless Swimming Lagoon.
Casual Bayside Restaurant, The Back Bay Cafe.
Village Center with Pool, Spa, Market Place store and Laundry.
Daily Scheduled Activities For Adults and Children.
Kayak and Sailboat Rentals and Lessons.
Bike Rentals and much much more!

The rally dates are from Thursday May 17 till Sunday May 20, 2007. Here is just a sample schedule for the rally

Thursday: early arrivals can show up, set up and hang out with other trailerites, No events are planned for this day.

Friday: Start the morning off with a nice hot cup of Joe at the Vintage Vacations Trailer. The rest of the trailerites will arrive. This is a great day to walk around the park, get the low down on how to do something on your trailer, hang out with old and new friends, do a little sight seeing in the area or just relax!

Saturday: For those of you who have never attended one of my rallies before, this is The Big Day! After having your morning coffee, everyone will get ready for the Big open house and swap meet. This event is the best part of the whole rally. Each year we invite the public, trailerites to be, the Press and everyone else to come on down and visit with us from 11am till 4pm only! In years past we have had upwards of 7500 people fill the campground in that 5 hour period, everyone of them coming to see your trailer and set up! As with every year in the past, The Vintage Vacations rally T-shirts will be on sale at the Vintage Vacations trailer for $20. As always, we will be having our swap meet this year where we can all drag out all of those great collectables and vintage trailer related items to sell.

Although we have had them in the past, we will not be having a pot luck dinner this year as there is just to many people. After your dinner we can all head back to our campsites and prepare to meet again on the beach to talk about coming events and settle in for the nights main event, Vintage trailer movies on the beach.

Sunday: It has been a great weekend but it is now time for us to start packing it in for the drive home.

The costs for the rally are as follows:
Vintage Vacations is charging a $38. non refundable registration fee for each trailer/motorhome/campsite that is registered to help cover all of the additional costs involved in putting the rally together.

Newport Dunes Resort is charging a reduced "Group Rate" fee of $44.00 per site, each night to stay at the park with a two night, Friday and Saturday minimum. This price is higher than past years to make up for the increased number of sites available to us. We now have 20 more sites than last year. This year the Dunes has added several waterfront sites that are open for you to reserve. These sites are at the reduced group rate but not the same rate as the other sites. These sites are available on a first come first serve basis.

All sites are "full hook up". Cancellations must be made with the Dunes at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled arrival in order to receive a refund from Newport Dunes Resort. If you would like to extend your stay at Newport Dunes, they have graciously extended the group rate to all rally attendees for 2 day prior to and 2 days after the rally. You can order and pay for those nights when you make your reservation.

If you would like to be a part of our 9th annual Spring rally, simply click on the link below which will take to the Registration page. Please read and follow the directions as they are described! This is a 2 part registration that needs to be followed to the T. This is a group outing, so we are asking that all who attend please participate in any group events that may occur. If you want a camp site next to someone else, I would suggest that you make the arrangements with the Dunes at the time you pay for your site.

All follow up information, attendee list, maps and everything else will be mailed out to all who have signed up via email or my newsletter.

Important information, please read:

Because the rally is a Vintage Vacations Sponcered event and the fact that I have spent so much time creating all that I have done over the years to promote not only Vintage Vacations, but vintage trailering as a whole, as part of my contract agreement with the Dunes, no one will be allowed to sell new or reproduction items at the rally that would be in direct conflict or competition with the items that will be sold or offered by Vintage Vacations® and Vintage Vacationland®.

Sales:
Vintage items, camping goods, old trailers parts and other such items are more than welcome items for the swap meet on Saturday and may be sold at no expense. Anyone wishing to sell "new" trailers related items such as shirts, hats, dishes, books etc. at the event will be required to register with Vintage Vacations and pay a $75. sellers fee.

Trailers for sale:
If you wish to place a for sale sign in your trailer at the event with the hopes of selling it, you are more than welcome to. In past years, many trailers have been sold to both fellow rally attendees as well as the crowds of spectators that flock there each year. This year there will be a $25. non-refundable fee for anyone wishing to post a for sale sign in their trailer or advertise another trailer that they may have! This is a small price to pay when you concider what you would pay ebay or a vintage car swapmeet!

Also, because this is a Vintage Vacations® sponsored event, no other individual or business may advertise, promote or hand out business card or flyers for the restoration, repair or polishing of vintage trailers through their own or another business at the event without the expressed written permission of Craig Dorsey. This is the result of one person that had a blatant disregard for me and my business at the 2004 rally.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you in May

Craig Dorsey
