As with most of the full restorations that we do, this trailer was gutted down to an empty shell, all of the body work and skin was worked to remove all of the dents and scratches and then it was painted. Once all of the exterior was buttoned up, we started to create this beautiful interior.
With the exception of the addition of a full bathroom to the "Observation Lounge" area, the floor plan was laid out to resemble that of the original. All of the cabinetry in the kitchen and bedroom matched that of the old floor plan with a few improvements to make way for more storage.
Some of the many modern updates that you would find in this trailer and not in an original trailer of its time period are A 3-way Norcold refrigerator with a retro door panel and handle, 20,000 btu forced air heater, propane water heater, Modern electrical panel with full 12 volt system, charger and battery, porcelain toilet, full holding tank system, stainless steel shower and much more.
We were able to save the original davenport sofa and reupholster it to suit our needs.
As you can see, we try to create a look and style that works for the period of the trailer, None of the modern updates are ever seen!
It is the attention to detail, craftsmanship, design and the finishing touches that make a Vintage Vacations restoration what it is.
